Dumb awards ceremony. What a waste of two hours. Why can't they just pass us our awards in class? And why are there so many?

Sat about waiting for mama to be done with the school store, and talked first to Mark, and then to Christian. They're both pretty cool. It's amazing... I talked to each of them for about half an hour without searching for things to say. Though that's partially because they don't really know me and it's easy to give stock background explanations.

My neck hurts.

Apparently the senior picnic is tonight. I may go for a bit, but I'm definitely going to Miller to see the Gounod/Bernstein later.

Texas Scholars? We had one too. Random people came and gave random speeches. o.O Then they gave out free food which was supposedly disgusting... I didn't try any.

No, no. I don't think we have an actual Texas Scholars awards thing. Our school just randomly gives out awards by department. The whole school fits in the theater, so the seniors sit on the stage and everybody else in the audience, and we all scream and yell (or hide behind the risers and listen to Rachmaninov clamped over our ears, avoiding the noise) for whomever. I got a couple this time... National Merit acknowledgement, and some kind of vocal-department most-consistent-improvement one. They gave me a Harvard Dictionary of Music with that one, which I was quite happy about. There was no food, more's the pity.
