Almost a normal Tusday night, despite the fact that we skipped the first HSC Debussy rehearsal to do the Rice concert (it was one of those indescribably cool ones I'm going to buy the cd of and inflict on my friends for the next year).

Ben invited us out to Kaatz's after with the gang, and played me his Tokyo festival recording of his orchestra doing Rite of Spring.... ee. YAY. Haha. And then I got to observe hilarious collegekid dynamics at both ends of the table from the middle. They told stories about their classes and stupid things that happened, and one of them actually bears repeating. Chris Green, in his lesson with Dr. Farwell, was doing some Rachmaninov songs, and after one runthrough, exclaimed about his lack of vibrato on the Russian word "kak", meaning "how." What he said was, "I forgot to vibrate on the kak!" Dr. Farwell burst out laughing, and his expression (as reenacted by Sam Pitamber) was absolutely hilarious. Haha. Yay. There were some other ones about that good. And I had a cobb salad. I'm happy.
