The Kaddish will either pull together or crash and burn. Tonight it showed some signs of maye being able to pull together. That'd be nice. It's a cool piece.
Spent quite a pleasant while hanging out with Fi and Tony, waiting for his parents to come get him (we were out early, what with two piano rehearsals). Once we finally went to the restaurant where everybody'd gone, I noticed a couple things. Either Salad is a lot more perceptive than I would have given him credit for, or I have some kind of telepathic projection that makes my subconscious preferences fairly obvious. Fi and Tony and Mama and I had just been discussing the particularly objectionable aspects of Ian's company, and I felt pretty put out with his presence at the restaurant. Even though we were barely there for more than half an hour, once everybody was getting up to leave, and they were out of their chairs, there was never a time when Salad was not between Ian and me. And before Salad left, he seemed to make sure there was somebody else holding up the subtle barrier. Hmm. It was happy enough to kind of cancel out the stress from the being chastised at rehearsal.
