It was rather jarring last night, though.
Rion Soulkeeper: My fun was rather spoiled by Rebecca's mom
spoiledrichboy05: Heh, my mother is still in a state of shock about your shoe habits as well
Rion Soulkeeper: perhaps, but they're not completely unusual, and she doesn't act like she owns me
spoiledrichboy05: Well, true. I didn't really see what happened with Becca's mum... what was it?
Rion Soulkeeper: Oh, she just made up fictional reasons for me to put my shoes on and commanded me to as if I were four years old
Rion Soulkeeper: I did ask four fairly blunt and trustworthy people whether my feet stank... and I smelled them myself...
Rion Soulkeeper: She was just disturbed by the inappropriateness she perceived in the barefootedness, so she lied and told me they did
Rion Soulkeeper: Fairly amusing, actually
spoiledrichboy05: Ah... I see. Well, I suppose it is important to some people... I (crazy as it may sound) tend to look past such unimportant details as the way people dress... people need to realize that things like barefootedness have almost no bearing on the big picture of things
Rion Soulkeeper: I know... you have a more flexible mind, I think. Social norms and taboos have implanted themselves so firmly in her head that she's made unbearably unncomfortable if they're crossed
spoiledrichboy05: Yupyup... that's actually common with a lot of people though... my entire family for example. I think that we're just surrounded by te more flexible artist minds for such a large majority of our time that it's all the more of a shock when we encounter the rest of the world
Rion Soulkeeper: I think that's probably fairly accurate. Plus, I've been insulated most of my life, cause my entire family, unlike yours, is the same way
