Sometimes the best bits of life are really strange.

Yeah, I stayed afterschool to see the show today, only to find that my mom's voucher works exclusively for music-department concerts. The All-School Musical is apparently not a music-department production. Oh well. I had fun with Tony and Wes at General Joe's, and hung out with my mom when they left for call, and she said that I should go give the voucher to the box office anyway, go around the department head and see if they'd take it. So I hung around in 111 (choir room), where a few friends were preparing for the show. Ms Bonner, the very one who told my my mom's voucher wouldn't work, gave me her ticket (she sure didn't need it... she was backstage yelling, probably). So I decided my mom would probably buy one more when she got there, and we'd go. I sat around in 111 and played the Steinway and talked to the friends in the chorus till they left...

The room has a fairly good sound system, and I put on Houses of the Holy, which I'd brought to school. I gyrated madly to it like I did in Cambridge, and was slightly out of breath, when suddenly some demonic influence sent my pulse to my teeth (that's what it felt like... very strange). I was high from the music, and other things, like an excess of adrenaline and serotonin. I shook my hair out and did a good headbanger imitation...

I managed to regain some semblance of a normal state by the time my mom arrived. We sat down, and I made fun snarky comments to her at opportune moments. I saw my freshman biology teacher who moved to Jersey Village and is miserable there... she was so good, and I was so sad she left... I made fairly creditworthy conversation, and looked like I was conscious, but if my mind wandered or a chord change had the slightest resemblance to the Rain Song, there would be weird shudders and sudden involuntary chills.

This is not going to help my SAT tomorrow, but I don't really care. It still reverberates up my axis of horizontal symmetry if I think about it.
