I ushed at the musical tonight, and, I must say, I was surprised. It was good. I actually encourage my nonpva friends to come see it. There were a couple falls off the stairs and a few mic inconsistencies, but the dancing was impressive and the singing wasn't horrible, most of the time. It's not a very good show, but it was well-done, and they all looked very cute, especially the lead, Will Rogers (played by one of the flamingest dancer boys in the school, but he acts well, so you can't tell). It's the Will Rogers Follies, and I'm going again tomorrow, cause my mom has a pair of free tickets she got for driving people around to region. I think the price is 12 bucks; one of the few shows I'd call worth it, actually. Though that may be cause I know the players. But really, the music's not bad, and it's fun to heckle the cute bassist at intermission.
In other news, I am not a 47 waist in men's pants. Well, it's not really other news. I'd orgotten to bring usher clothes for the show, so I borrowed Tony's white shirt after we walked to Walgreens to get him makeup, and Jackinthebox to eat, and hung out... Yeah, I borrowed his shirt, cause he didn't need it, and the vocal department has extra tux pants for years when either very small or very large people aren't in the chorus using them. Thus, a 27-8-9 didn't fit me, but I rolled up the top of a 47 and asked the costume shop for a needle and black thread to fix the hole in the seat the size of Africa. It still didn't work, so I went back to the box to look for a string or something to keep it up, and ended up using a bright red cummerbund turned inside out and backwards, under the flare of the embroidered white shirt... it was awhile before I figured out how to keep it from giving me a spare tire I didn't earn, but I did get it...
Well, my legs are tired, as I haven't sat since half an hour before the show...
Julia brought me home and asked if she can sleep at my house sometimes when they close 59 so she doesn't have to deal with the traffic, and my mom says it's fine... could be fun.
Dharma and Greg is pretty funny. But my legs are still tired. I'm high from a show I wasn't even in. I guess it's fun to be House Crew, too.
