This has been the least successful travel day/night I have ever had. Plane delayed three hours, rental car cost a zillion more pounds than they said it would (and they spent an hour trying to figure out what happened and arguing on the phone with the people who messed up for us), and then we got stuck in a traffic snarl that added about 3 hours to our travel time. It was literally stopped. For a long time.
But! We are here! And not dead! Right now, here is the Teddington M1 service station, where there are liquid beverages and internets.
By this evening, we will be in Edinburgh, hanging out with Talitha at her somewhat inaccessible but cosy third-floor flat. She might come with us, too, as we wander back down the country, looking at Welsh castles here, checking out live Jamie Parker performances in Bath there. And then, on the 22nd, comes the King's Singers workshop, which I devoutly hope will live up to my rabid excitement about it.
