A day in which I see and talk to Andrew (in Ukraine), Martin (in Germany), Tony (lives in Boston, here for Christmas), and Brent (lives in Boston, in North Carolina for Christmas) is a successful day of social interaction. And I didn't even get out of bed! Mostly.
Andrew called at 1am (9am his time), and we discussed the future of our musical collaboration. He now has copies of most of the Reggie-initiated songs, and I'm working on getting him the ones I started (some of them I'm not happy with yet, so I'll wait till they're better before I send them along, not that I think he'd judge me, but you know), and then there will be some kickass cello improvisation and parts.
Martin showed up on Skype a bit after I woke up around 1pm, and we had a blast showing each other stuff, as we always do. I had a few recordings from my Thanksgiving holiday he hadn't heard, and he had some gems of European culture to share, as well as a Hobbit set picture I hadn't seen. I even spoke some German, wincing all the while at my horrific failure.
Tony texted in the afternoon to ask if I was home; indeed I was, so along he came! He was in the neighborhood (relatively speaking), so he came over and I shoved a Minchin DVD down his throat (after some catching up, naturally), and we reviewed some evidence of his little brother's awesomeness. Mama agrees, he's got skillz. Tony'll be in town for awhile yet, so I hope to see him again.
Brent called during our hang, but I called him back later, and though he didn't have much to say (he's slightly ill), we chatted anyway (and my mom said hi). I sent him copies of all the stuff he recorded over Thanksgiving, and set him straight on what some of the other recordings I'd sent him contained. His mom and dad went by, even came up into the camera to say hi. They're sweet.
Terfly and Tiki were both happy to hear from everybody, too. They really seem to like my bed now that it has water in it. Good, good. I approve of their taste.
