Our little group has had the hardest time being exclusive. We all feel bad about it, but really want to be small. So there are secret meeting times in the dark upstairs library (though that didn't work; Martin and I were waiting for half an hour by ourselves because everyone downstairs didn't know we were there, but it was okay, because Martin's awesome). We ended up going outside the boarding house and running things, and we got a lot done but then someone came out of the neighboring flats to say it's lovely but people are trying to sleep, so we went back inside.

Jonas taught half of us (Parker and Camilo went to bed), almost by rote, an intensely gorgeous Schutz chorale. The German boys are for some reason really impressed with my German pronunciation, and being able to stealthily understand their conversation and respond in English because I'm ashamed of my vocab and grammar. They keep asking me to speak in German, but I'll stick to singing for now. Maybe today I'll do it. I actually have something to say.

Breakfast now.

Is it Martin Vögerl from Formosa Vokalensemble - we heard them once, they were awesome. How many in the choir can sing that well?
Are there any who don't have any singing experience at all, or is it just the lack of attention

No no, it's just a boy named Martin. The choir is full of people 16-24 (with a few outliers; there's a 14-year-old and a 36-year-old), and I don't think (besides the boys who have sung in cathedrals) that any of them are professionals. A lot of them have never sung at this level.

...Gee - ya think 56 would be too far outlying...?

The 14-year-old is Mr. Connolly's daughter, right? Is she one of those who care?
Hope that Compline went well.

No, the 14-year-old is named Hannah; his daughter's name is Molly, I think, and she's 15.

So does she care?

By the way: Will you go straight back to the US after Exeter or will you see some of Europe yet. If you plan visiting Berlin or Paris, you should give us (that's Jean, my partner, who's French and 28 and me, 26) a hint if we can be helpful in any way.

She's all right, but she's not one of the fanatics. She doesn't disrupt rehearsal.

I and two friends traveled the Continent for two weeks before this course. We went through Frankfurt, Vienna, Florence, Munich, Haarlem, and Amsterdam before spending a night in London on the way to Exeter; thanks for the offer, though.
