It's been a lovely, mostly low-key new year, full of reading and eating and watching movies. David and mama and I stayed up till 3:30 or so on the night, with egg nog, hot chocolate, tiny pies and ice cream, watching Pixar movies and romcoms. Eventually with popcorn. David Tennant is a good ingredient in a romcom. As I suspected.
This morning was the mayoral inauguration, which was fun; there was a rehearsal yesterday and a rehearsal last Sunday, and then we just did it. Nice and short, easy music. And Tom directed, which makes a huge difference in the rehearsal experience; he is FUN, unlike many, many choir conductors. And we got a rides with Corita, who is also fun, and usually some kind of food afterwards. So today, after a nice Chipotle and hour or so of talking, we set up a time to go with her down to her ranch and ride. I haven't ridden a horse in... maybe 10 years! It will be fun.
But for now, it is finally Back to Work. Yay for creating the econ bookmap on the production server.
