At the weekly Friday lunch it was decided I got to pick the restaurant and repeats are allowed, because birthday. So I barrelled off to Shiva. SO MUCH SAAG PANEER. And they wouldn't let me pay for my lunch! Or my mango lassi. I rolled back in to work (it is hard to move after having Indian buffet for lunch, and it never gets easier, no matter how much I learn about the capacity of my stomach) and fixed some more Biology errata and then discovered they had gone and got me a rhubarb pie. Jubliations! I made them all eat some because man I was still so full even two hours later when I announced Pie Time (and then had to show them Weebl and Bob).

I had walked into work instead of driving, anticipating maybe having too much to eat that day. So I walked home, and it was a lovely sojourn through the somewhat idyllic boulevards between work and home, and I should walk more often.

Mama got home not long after me, having gone to the grocery store for cheesecake and accoutrements, and decided it should be Present Time. Man, did she get some awesome presents. Candles, plants and a book to write in are always a good bet, and then also the piano/vocal score to Into the Woods, and then also a 57-song SONDHEIM BOOK yess exactly what I needed and then ALSO the piano/vocal score to Matilda, complete with a hilarious foreword by Minchin followed by a hilarious outline of his insights into the music theory of the score (seriously, I may have to scan it) AND the soundtrack!

And David started making Reynolds Wrap and mama and I went to see a movie, which was charming, and then I came back online to check my call time for tomorrow's rehearsals and incidentally had a chat with Wicker, who was testing the functionality of Skype's use of the camera and microphone, and we traded cat introductions and living space explication, as well as a bit of blog/journaling platform philosophy. And then I had to go actually eat cheesecake and frozen cherries and chocolate and Reynolds Wrap (David made lime-ginger this time and it is KILLER), and mama gave me an opal ring that is utterly charming (my birthday is her excuse to get opals, and we are both rockhounds, so it's a good excuse), and a tiny frog silver ring that is possibly the most adorable thing I have ever seen and I may never take it off.

Call tomorrow, it turns out, is 10 for chamber choir, 2 for the dress of the composition DMA recital I'm singing, and 5 for the PIVO soundcheck. I may be late for the soundcheck because of the dress. It's ok. I prefer the DMA music (shhhh)
