Thursday night, I was properly exhausted in the best way from chiv practice. There was a fighter there who hadn't come before, whom Orin named "a fun fight", and he taught me a tiny bit of what to do in single-sword. It was very different, and odd, and much faster-moving, but I liked it a lot. Way more active, so intimidating, but not overwhelming.

They had a Hold-the-Field fight, in which everybody fights everybody else, and I participated for the first time. They were being nice to me, but it was still a step; and for once, I actually killed a guy! Drew apparently didn't expect my off-body shot, and he told me I eviscerated him! Everybody else killed me verrrry quickly, but it was still a great feeling, not to totally suck.

Saturday morning I rose reluctantly to go get pictures taken. The chamber choir had a photoshoot at various locations downtown, and I think the time would have been better spent rehearsing, but that might just be my disinclination towards cameras and paranoia about Bohemian Rhapsody. We only have one rehearsal left before the show on the 14th, and it was nowhere near ready last Monday.

Dan felt like seeing a movie last night before his obnoxiously early flight this morning, so I mentioned that Jurassic Park came out in 3D this weekend. Oh, man, is it worth it. It was a bit of a contemplative experience for me; I hadn't seen it since I was young enough to not know exactly what was going on the whole time, and I have since formed firmed opinions regarding science, but those dinosaurs were still my team. And they have hardly aged at all; the CG and puppets both look fantastic still, despite the lack of feathers and our recent knowledge of the half-life of DNA. I still cry at the watering hole reveal. Oh, parasaurolophuses. Moving in herds.

I'm fielding less annoyance than usual on a Sunday morning post-service. Could be because it's easier to rehearse with just a quartet, and nothing is quite as irritating. Could be that I am, after a long hiatus, going to scribal today and figuring out what kind of sodality scroll they need from me. Black and white, they say, since that's our barony's colors. A pity, but it'll make it easy.
