First night without a rehearsal in what feels like weeks, but is probably more like A Week. I spent it adjusting my padded gambeson (made, let's be real, out of a hotel quilt) to fit and be hemmed enough that the batting doesn't fall out, and finishing up the tailoring to the steel chain shirt, so that it now fits much more pleasantly and does not flop like really excessive and metallic armfat. Now all I need for my torso to be properly armored is to fit and pad my bazubands (elbow+forearm leather armor), and cut out some decently fitted half-gauntlets from my remaining roll of leather. YAY.
I was thinking about recording my Xenharmonic round, since tumblr reminded me of Jacob's and Andrew's, but I'm still not totally done with the cold that impeded me over the weekend and last night's chamber choir rehearsal (though much better last night than Saturday or Sunday, and not just because I've had more time to get over it; it's much easier to sing over a cold if it's lovely lyrical British rep than open-mouthed humming Feldman in an inconvenient and limited range). So I will record some other time, despite Tuesdays being basically my only reliably free evening.
All that sewing was exhausting, though. And not just because I listened to the entirety of Carmina and most of a Moody Blues album.
