Well, the year has definitely started. I posted Archive, and Sam posted it on RFM and four people bought it, which is not enough for them to send me money yet, but I'm still hoping. Good start.
Though I kind of like working from home on Monday mornings; I have a class at Rice, so there's no reason to go to IBC with Dan. I've rearranged my room so that there is some horizontal space, and I put my dresser in my bathroom so that there is more floor space. This necessitated taking stuff off the top of the dresser, so it's pretty much clear. When working in the office, I've been standing at a shelf for as much of the day as possible, because it's better for you (apparently you live five years longer, but I haven't seen the research on that), so yesterday I just stood up and did computer stuff at my dresser till I ate some food and biked to Rice for German.
Which, in the class this semester, there's a blond model-type undergrad legitimately named Thor. His parents are Danish. What're you gonna do.
The first chamber choir rehearsal of the year went off splendidly (well, actually I think the rehearsal might not have gone that well, but I'm so enthusiastic about the rep I didn't notice). It's all British rep, actually almost all English (one Scot, whose work I don't know, but I bet it'll be awesome), compiled as a program by Simon Carrington (yes, that one), who's going to conduct it. Yeah. So, I was excited. Parry, some Renaissance stuff, a Chilcott, almost the entire Britten AMDG (which I haven't done!), and some other stuff that I also quite like. And before that, we're doing the Feldman Rothko Chapel music (which everyone hates, and I like) in the Rothko Chapel. So, yay.
And on the way home, what came immediately on in the car but Jump! And then, right after it, Stairway. It's like they know I'm writing a song about awesome rock bands.
This day, I have learned to replace the pdf and epub downloads of the physics book on Connexions and OpenStax. Dan trusts me to make errata corrections and push the replacement. I could make a physics book say anything I wanted. I AM MAD WITH THE POWER!
And then I got an answer from a kind Feeter (the name of the official Minchin forum is "Angry (Feet)", after this poem) about the Tim-sanctioned distribution of the only album his old band, Timmy the Dog, ever recorded. It's not in print anywhere, and he has forbid its being posted on any sharing site, but he encourages the fans to send it to each other directly if they really want it. So. NOW I HAVE IT AHAHAHHAA
The year's going well so far.
