Perhaps that last post requires some elaboration. Or, if you know anything about Leonard Bernstein, perhaps not. Either way, last night was the first rehearsal that the chamber choir's had on Chichester Psalms and various choral adaptations of pieces from Candide (and the warmup from the Mass). There are times when I literally cannot sing because the music makes me so happy.
Sometimes the same situation obtains for Carmina, which rehearsal I attend tonight with the HSC. It'll be the second one, so hopefully people will know what they're doing by now. I get impatient when people don't know these pieces because it delays the onset of incapacitating awesomeness. But in any case, awesomeness awaits.
There's also some to be had from the weekend; I turned in the Squires, Cadets and Arcarius scrolls to Scribal Guild on Sunday afternoon after Palm Sundaying it up at church (man, early services are the pits). Hillary seemed entirely pleased with them, which is gratifying, because I was kind of pleased with them myself. And she said she'd take pictures, which I'd neglected to do.
I need to write a song or something. Maybe the super extra double whammy of doing Chichester and Carmina at the same time AGAIN (the HSC's last Chichester was on a double-feature with Carmina) will remind me how to write songs, because I haven't since I've been out of school.
