Tiki is still smacking Terfly around, but he still doesn't care and they can now play adjacently with the same toy without a hissy fit every five seconds. Progress!

Mama and I went to Jones Hall tonight for the first night of the three-weekend RachFest at the Symphony. Di boni. AAAAAHHH

So first there was the Meistersinger overture, which was apparently programmed to start RachFest because Wagner was a big influence on Rachmaninoff's romanticism. However, the rest of the program was basically Ryan-Sacred Music. Rach 3 (my favorite concerto), played competently by the pianist and wrenchingly by the symphony. And then Symphonic Dances (which were apparently originally called Fantastic Dances: Noon, Twilight, and Midnight). I cried, it's true. My religion consists of Rachmaninoff and Cats, basically.

Also I transcribed some Steeleye Span arrangements of Child ballads for an SCA lady with whom I might sing some tomorrow at fighter practice in between church and Paul English rehearsal. And also I have scale mail and a helmet that I didn't have last time I went to fighter practice, so I'll get that checked out.

AAAAHHH RACH

Next weekend it's 1 and 4. And Isle of the Dead. AAAAAHHHH
.
