Well, uh, I'm still back. I got a little back into the swing of school, but it's amazing how temporary conditions seem when you get your computer back from the shop and the hard drive's replaced. It's like I don't really live here. I've been figuring out how to do a restore from a backup from last year (for I am lame and didn't do one recently), but if I'm gonna lose a bunch of mp3s I bought, recorded, and ripped from irreplaceable sources, Sibelius scores I transcribed/wrote, and Garageband recordings I made, I need to get the data off the old drive which Apple magnanimously let me keep. So I've been calling around to see what kind of price that runs, and it doesn't look great.

Meanwhile, life goes on at school. Tuesday night I got to sing with Nedelka and Leah again, and Henrique played. That is a hot item there. I'm glad we're doing a song together on Hankus's songwriting ensemble concert. And then yesterday I had a single lesson since Dominique's schedule moved everything back from Thanksgiving and Hankus's didn't. It was a good lesson with lots of singing and an actual rep assignment; I have to learn some Cantaloube Chants d'Auvergne but there are 5 volumes so I should ask her which ones.

Yesterday evening I accomplished a lot of procrastination with Brent's help. We hadn't spent that amount of solitary company time in ages, and I am of two minds; it's good to be reminded how much I enjoy it, but it does oust other productive activities from the schedule because my willpower fails when a whole afternoon/evening is on offer.

Somehow today turned out okay despite my not having finished things I should have finished, and then this evening I lit candles and ate cheese and played mandolin and continued to try and restore a user from a previous mac of mine onto this one. Also I have finally discovered the kinesthetic marvel that is Michael Jackson. I knew he was a thing, I just hadn't really understood it. I can take or leave the music, but that guy could dance.
