Really, there are very few ways in which this could realistically get better. I spent the morning teaching Air Travel Blessing to Ted's ensemble (they took to it astonishingly quickly), rehearsing Lautaro's piece, Skyping Martin, and jamming with Henrique (and Rob, who also showed up). I then accompanied them on the bus to Cambridge since they were going home and I was going there to look at a mandolin. There was some drama with a crazy lady who wouldn't get off the bus till the police came; everybody else got off to get on one of the many other 1 buses coming by, but really it just gave us more time to hang out. And then I met the manodlin guy, who's pretty cool in himself, and his girlfriend's cat, who is the friendliest cat I've ever met (her name is Miles). And now I have a mandolin, and am learning chords on it while sitting at the computer drinking Thai tea and eating horseradish paste out of the bottle.
Seriously. And I'm about to watch the rehearsal tape I took of this morning's runthrough so I can get the audio off it to send the band so they can memorize it (I wrote the chords on the board, cheater that I am. But there are a lot of them, so it's ok).
