The dinner party Monday night was astonishingly pleasant. I am not accustomed to showing up at Northeastern strangers' houses because I am friends with the boyfriend of one of their friends, but they were all friendly, witty, and charming, and the food was good. I even got to talk to Alan for quite awhile.
He, his girlfriend Nicki and I took the T back together, and I even convinced them to come up and see the apartment before they started fading fast and had to walk back to the hotel. It was so good to see them, and very good to meet Nicki.
Meanwhile, I have accomplished things I am proud of. I will elaborate when it isn't the middle of the night or when I'm back from PA; Julie arrived this evening so she didn't have to do both legs of the trip tomorrow. After Songwriting and Methodology (for which I have done something I am proud of, though we'll see how long that lasts), we're booking it out to PA to see... well, you can guess.
