Time is rarely so perfectly metered. I woke at noon and spent a leisurely early afternoon contemplating and second-coating the scales on my computer, till Dan called and offered to make dinner here. So I invited Joodles and Catherine and Trevor and we had a dinner party of the domestically exquisite kind; Dan made a heavenly London broil and asparagus and mushroom/squash/zucchini and almond goat cheese. I rarely fixate on the quality of food, but it's hard not to when Dan cooks. Good company helps, too. Trevor had to jet fairly quickly because his spring break is over tomorrow and he hadn't finished the work, but Joodles, Catherine, Dan and I hung out and jammed all evening (some on the piano, some on the guitar {I transposed the chords for It's Only Wednesday so Joodles could play it with a capo, cause they're impossible guitar chords}, some on the accordions mama randomly got out of their boxes... And some on Youtube. Much hilarity was shared. David got back in the evening and everybody stayed long enough for the Reynolds wrap he made to get out of the oven (always worth it). They all had to split at midnight since they hadn't finished all the work either, but it was a full 6 hours of hangout, and there's still the week.
Sunlight is the best mood enhancer. I spent quite a bit of afternoon sitting in it, altering my Crash Kings shirt, before it was time for Chorale. I am not a fan of B9, but rehearsal with Tom is worth it. A temporary return to an excellent past, after a semester and a half of school elsewhere. He even stopped rehearsal to come up and hug me when he noticed I was there. Aw. I'm important.
Now for more sun! And perhaps more beads!
