Lunch at Nit Noi, a few S6 West Wings, and Stephan's hangover was cured. Also, better concert tonight. I didn't quite die sitting through the Beethoven. Got back in time for one more Rome with Bryan, since I'd never have been able to catch up with Stephan and Marshall, who were halfway into the third hour of 8 1/2.

I'm going to draw a picture.

Concert this afternoon was a disaster. I mean, for me. TMI )

I took some apricots and pistachios to Stephan's so I wouldn't starve if they'd already had dinner, but they were on their way out, so I went with them to Chili's. I could sit there at the table for ages and glow with the glee of undeserved fortune. I've never really had friends before who can both maintain a high standard of banter on subjects I can follow and act like I'm on their level (even when I'm not). It's not that it cracked me up, or that they're supercool in any conventional way, I'm just glad they let me hang out with them as much as I do.

Bryan and I read through two or three Virelai and organum when we got back, which he'd got specifically for the purpose. Stephan doesn't read well and Ben's better playing, so two parts is plenty. We did that instead of a Rome, and then he had more work, so I half-watched a couple more sixth-season WWs with Stephan, while attempting to accomplish something worthwhile on my computer. He's caved and admitted the writing is good, even more consistent than Sorkin's years, though not of his genius. Hah. I came home while I was ahead.

My back still hurts, but it may be ameliorated by tomorrow.
