HA. Haha. Aha. Ahem.

La Calisto is hilarious. I managed to get past my deep hatred of all things Baroque and watch the show as a show rather than an opera, and I'm glad, because it's a damn good show. Better than Hansel and Gretel, and I'm not just saying that because I was in Hansel and Gretel and I couldn't see it from the audience. La Calisto is actually worthwhile. And hilarious, did I mention that? The drag is definitely an improvement on the drag in Hansel. And the flirting with Bado... just... priceless. Also, the costuming and sets are worlds improved. There is not a single costume grossly unflattering to the figure of any character, and most of them look amazingly hot, male and female. Audrey makes a gorgeous boy.

Really, there's no way I can describe it that won't take five pages, and no one ever reads my reviews anyway, so just go see the thing and then you'll know what I mean.

Work, on the other hand, was not so much hilarious. We just had administrative changeover, so everyone's still learning how to deal with new positions. I didn't ever go home because they still had an article on its way at 9:00 this morning, but they let me go to class instead of waiting for it. Which was good, because Dan sang this morning. Unfairly well, for the time of day. And it was Apres un Reve, so I was unreasonably moved (my mushiness may also have had outside factors contributing to it).

I did not fall asleep in Ling. I will fall asleep now instead. And go to... hmm. Ruddigore, Baby, or Cymbeline? We'll see.
Ha!

Aw. Pad thai is good. So is Diego. Patu's associations are shifting from the deeply ingrained Summer of Jenny to the small Dinners With Diego before call for a show or rehearsal.

Several phone calls and IMs. Decision finally made: Cymbeline tonight. I hope I don't regret it. As for tomorrow, that's the several-option night, with Hayley's party afterwards. I can see any of five shows I've already seen, because Buried Child is for Saturday and Baby's closing Sunday. Ha, I will have done it. Perhaps not any homework, but eh.

Howard Shelley, I want to marry your fingers.

Ahaha. Cymbeline. Yeah.

Well, it was entertaining, and several of the actors were actually worth watching, and Stephan got a few Hermeneutical kicks out of it. I think Dan was bored, but there's Ruddigore tomorrow.
