Odd rehearsal tonight; Charles let us out at 9ish instead of 10 (no break), because over half the music we're doing, we did last year. There's the horrible Feliz Navidad, the cute little Twelve Days (boy, have I heard all the jokes in there before. We're doing it at school, too, for our little collab with the Symphony, and the concert is on the same day as a Christmas Pops one). Then there's a freakishly easy, mostly unison arrangement of Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and this kinda cool half-hour piece that's a rather classy medley (sounds like an oxymoron, I know, but it's very cool) arranged in segued movements corresponding to different aspects of the Christian experience of Christmas (Three Wise Men, Epiphany, Peace & Joy...). Pretty.
We went out to Chapultepec, then. I went with Bill in his SUV because Mama started talking to Darla and that always lasts for at least an hour... Bill was gonna get his bike at home, but we got there and managed to convince his son (and Trevor, Will's friend) to come with us, so we wouldn't all fit on the bike. I had a moderately good time observing Salad interacting with 15-year-olds who act their age. But it's more fun when it's just us.
And now it's Thanksgiving break and I'm not gonna see anybody till forever! And I have to do English. But!
It slipped my mind that we're going to have to be in town for the rehearsals we have this week: Rice at 4 on Monday, HSC again on Tuesday at 7. Thus, if anybody wants to kidnap me, that's the time to do it. Demonstrate your love and save me from the English (I can do it in Lake Jackson, anyway, though Mama said they may come up here for Thanksgiving, in which case there's even more opportunity to :avoid: shopping in pleasant company).
