Well! We presented our candidate papers today in groups, and guess who picked the same candidate as I did? He really smells like smoke, and is a lot scruffier-looking closer up. Not his clothes or anything, but he's got a fuzzy uneven beard and his hair's a little... tousled. He's fuzzy on his arms, too, though. Cool. He also wears silver western-ish jewelry; he's got a demon-skull-and-buckler ring and a silver with copper inlay on his right, and some Indian symbolic bear figure on his left. His watch also has silver workings and a turquoise and a jasper. Interesting. Not my favorite, but interesting. He's also either a heavy-duty coke user (somehow I doubt it) or a guitarist, because the nails on his right hand are about a half-inch long. Interesting. But I was already feeling nauseated because of a bad breakfast, and then he came and sat with me and the other Bob Graham person, and it smelled like smoke. I had to leave a couple times.
He's got a compelling voice, when he talks. A very vague Southern drawl, and he doesn't open his mouth much, but it's a nice smooth tone. He also has intelligent things to say when he says anything. I find myself noting his shy posture as novel to draw; there's a thing with eyes-cast-down, head-tilted, hair-half-across-face that's so unlike anything I've ever tried that it would be fun. The way he sits, too, is interestingly different.
Maybe I will draw him. Or draw things inspired by him. It would be different. We'll see.
