Back from Grandjo's again... I didn't get to finish welding that little table (I think we've decided it's going to be a table... well, it could still swing towards chair, who knows) much to my disappointment. I could have turned the welder on myself, even though David and Andy were both working on Grandjo's transmission (poor Andy hit himself in the ear with a crowbar trying to hold something down in the engine. Ow). But I didn't, because it's more fun when you have company, and you couldn't hear the music cause of the noise David made intermittently, sharpening the lawnmower blades.
So I didn't get anything done. And I have ten days till Cambridge, with barely anything done on my English class. Gra. But the teachers are kind of ignoring me. Maybe they'll let me have the actual amount of time I was originally going to get. Or maybe I'll have to cram 14 units into the week after I get back from Cambridge.
I feel like creating something. Like starting a new big huge project like the Gala. Except with the watercolors Mama'd been saving to give me when I could appreciate them (she got them when I was in Waldorf, first grade). I think a nice panorama of Azhmet would be good in watercolor, yes? Or maybe not a panorama, I haven't got much experience with those. But a scene in Azhmet with Desert m'ae sprinkled about, Desert colors. Maybe I'll expand on that pic I drew of Nomad, Nia, with haia as an excuse to put cool clothes on people. I'll have to develop conventions for that taboo, and degrees of severity... culture invention is such fun.
Or I could work on the shirt. The head hole was a little bigger than absolutely necessary, so I closed it in by two rows, and now it's more compact. Ah, I wish I could finish it quickly. I'd bring it to Cambridge, but the weight limit is now 50lb/bag, plus I've had the experience of pliers confiscation once, and I do not wish to repeat it.
Or I could write something. I've been slated for the Creative Writing class as a definite, did I tell you that? May be interesting. Maybe not. But Nia is my roommate, so life is good. Oh, the audition pieces for Midsummer Night's Dream came in the mail; they're exactly the bits I would have asked for. Helena's first pleading with Demetrius, with the spaniel line (I love that thing), Puck's Shadows speech from the end, Titania's telling-off about the changeling page. Funfun. I shall possibly memorize; anybody want to drop by and work it with me?
