Lala. Mendelssohn piano rehearsal last night at Jones Hall, though we thought it was at UH so mama dropped me there. Luckily, somebody else made that mistake, too, and took me downtown. Then Corita took me home and came and visited the puupies. They stink.
Another rehearsal tonight, orchestra this time, but my 2/3 of the chorus is singing from backstage, so it oughta be interesting. Mendelssohn Midsummer Night's Dream is very cute, and as it's fairies, it's only the women from the chorus, and only half of them. We just started learning the Shakespeare yesterday; before that, we'd thought we were doing it in German. Oh well, it's easy enough to switch, although I memorized it and will have to look at the paper now.
We had a real master class in the period of that name on Wednesday, and I knew the teacher from a workshop she did with HSC (I didn't get to go to that, but I came and hung out with her and the party people after it). In that one, on Wed., I didn't get to sing and be criticized, but there's another one on March 5th and the PVA teacher who basically supervises the period (she hasn't taught us much) said I'm singing on that one. Yay! She's very good (the masterclass lady, who name is Isabel) and Mama had already been thinking about getting me voice lessons.
Speaking of which, I might, because we had an assembly at school today for the people from the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts, and I wanna try for that next year. Even the semifinalists are big deals to colleges, and the winner in each category gets a $10 000 scholarship. Hee.
