Well, I have a letter here on the desk with his name on it, waiting for an address. So I went out with the Symphony Chorus people tonight after rehearsal to Noche Cocino, a Mexican place, and guess who walks up and gives me and my mom both big hugs? He was as delighted to see us as I to see him, and asked all kinds of stuff about what was up, and told us stuff about school (he's not just magnet coordinator anymore, he's also an assistant principal), and was altogether just as I remembered! It's been three years, and he still came right up and said "I hear a Ryan Stickney!" My letter doesn't assume he remembers me, so I probly won't send that one now, but he gave us each a fancy HISD business card. Wow. Happiness. He had to go back to his friends and pay their bill, though (he did come back and say bye when he left), and we stayed with the HSC people, some of whom are fun, and some of whom are sleazy. Then they went to look at the photo exhibit the restaurant has (one of the HSC people's brother is the artist), which I was not too enthused about. And the front of the room was smoky, and the jazz was not very good. So I went outside and played on the banana leaves, and the rest of everybody evcentually came out. Ian took a bunch of pictures of the group; that reminds me, Christine still hasn't given me the picture she took of me at her house doing a backdive. Hmm.

So then most everybody went to The Tavern (what an original name), and we (Mama and I) tried it, but it was full of smoke and drunk people and loud karaoke (although the singer wasn't bad, I didn't like the song much). I am not fond of bars. So we left Bill (the coolest one) and them at the pool table, and zoomed home.

Oh yeah... as we were sitting down in Noche, Ian came over to our end of the table and leaned real close to me, putting his arm around me, and asked quietly if I had lost weight. I told him not that I knew of, and he seemed surprised, said it seemed like it. Then he proceeded to hang (though in a kind of classy, friendly way) all over the two girls who sat on either side of him, by turns. I'm not sure what to think. I think he may have been drunk (he had several margaritas), but I dunno. Bill had a couple, too, and he was fine... Apparently after Patu tomorrow I'm gonna be dropped by the art studio (painting and mosaic) under his house, because it's pretty cool. My mom has a doctor's appointment, of all things. So it oughta be ok... Bill won't be there, Mama won't be there, but it'll be a bunch of people in a studio. I wonder what it'll be like. I guess I'll have a craftsy next few days/weeks. Yma Sumac is really cool. Oh yeah, have to bring Verdi to Jenny tomorrow.

Well, Patu was fun, and I now have two people who can take over from me on the shirt if I die. By the time I left, though, it was too late to go to Bill's and have my mom still get to her appointment on time, so we went straight to the doctor. Mama wantd a bunch of tests, so we figured out a bunch of tests and went downstairs to the testing/blood place and got blood drawn. The tourniquet hurt more than the needle... Blood is such a pretty red. For red.

I really don't get it. An "emotionally bad day"? And she comes on just to taunt, cause she won't talk to anybosy.
